SICI, an accelerator for changemaker committed to addressing pressing social problems around the world in new and creative ways
In line with my commitment of championing social innovation and empowering the next generation, in 2015, I launched The New World Social Innovation Fellowship, an accelerator for changemakers committed to addressing pressing social problems around the world in new and creative ways.
Since then, over 85 Cheng Fellows have received weekly co-curricular coaching, mentoring and seed funding to tackle social challenges through a project of their own design. Their efforts can be seen in all levels of society, including civil society, business, government, and NGOs.
Social innovation is imperative to the progress of our society as a whole, and the fellows’ commitment to finding new real-life solutions to business and social challenges is highly commended. I am a strong advocate of creating shared value for all, which involves truly understanding the needs of the communities in which we live and work and leveraging our collective strengths and resources to address these needs.
Cheng Fellows are the embodiment of this philosophy and I am proud to be supporting these efforts.
